Frustrating…

Wow, today has been the most frustrating day ever. And it all started at 5:00 PM. Amazing how with such little time left in the day, everything can still go sour.

So around here there was word from the last two days that there would be another huge winter storm starting at midnight, with the storm watch starting at 6:00 PM.

I leave work at 5:00 PM, with the idea to stop by AutoZone to pick two new headlight bulbs for Joyce’s car, as it was discovered that one headlight was shot this morning.

I’m stuck in traffic two hours. Note, there is no snowing, no raining, nothing. People just overly paranoid about getting home before 6:00 to avoid the storm watch when snow doesn’t happen till midnight or afterward. So people inch slower, don’t take turns, don’t drive, when the roads are completely fine.

I noticed that whenever your angry and stuck in traffic, you start hating the car in front of you with a kind of burning fire of passion that can only compare to the pain and suffering caused when someone kicks you between the legs. So small blue yellow Chevrolet Aeon/Aveo whatever - you suck. When the car pulls ahead of you, don’t just go 5 MPH until you get there, there are people behind you trying to get past the intersection, and you taking your damn time to go 80 feet doesn’t help. So please accelerate for the betterment of mankind. Thanks.

I finally get to Autozone, ask the manager what part I need. He just says aisle 2 after looking it up, no offer to make sure I pick the right one. So I go there, see the model, pull it off the peg (I’m not really paying attention at this moment, I was just looking at peg ids), go up and pay for it. He looks at it, rings me up, and I go home.

Wife made some good dinner. Head down there to figure it out. Easy enough to pull the headlamp out. But pulling the headlight out of the socket is troublesome. First of all, the headlight in the package I bought matches the headlight that I’m looking at, except for a big humongous plastic cylindar. THe glass is the same, but I don’t see how they fit in with each other.

And fiddling with it around, calling a friend, and unhooking the latch on the damn thing (which was obvious, I just didn’t notice), turns out I bought the wrong one.

Head back to Autozone, the kid coworker shakes his head and jokes that he can’t take the damn thing back. Tells me he’s joking. Wonder’s how I got the wrong one. Tell him they had the wrong one on the DAMN PEG. The one I need was on the same peg but behind 4 of them that were on the WRONG DAMN PEG. He tells me his manager stacked it and his manager is an idiot.

I full heartedly agree. The stupid manager looked at the damn product, 3 minutes after I ASKED him what part I needed, and didn’t even check.

This is the equivalent ofa computer illiterate person wanting an MP3 player and the manager at Best Buy sends them to Aisle 2. They return with a voice recorder that records MP3s, manager looks at it, and rings it up.

Seriously.

So I finish it up, get the damn things installed, nearly break my fingers pushing the headlamps back into the mounts. And voila, new lights.

So with the snow tomorrow I wanted to try to see if I could work from home with the VOIP software that my work now uses. Unfortunately, I can’t log in to the work from home software because of numerous issues, so more than likely I get to make the drive to work tomorrow (yay) and figure this all out.

Oh yeah, and because of all this I missed card night. Not that I’ve been too pleasant to be around post 5:00…

About

The usual stuff goes here. This page is under construction, but it’s going to take awhile because there’s some stuff coming out that you probably know of that will happen someday and I need to be there because it’s important.

So yeah, give me a little time and this will look good. Yup.
